Re-themeing my Websites
Making slow attempts to re-theme my on-line presence so I've been working on new logos. I'm already ready to change my avatar around but currently it's the look I'm still good with. The new Don't Poke Smot logo to the left will be used for watermarks, and business cards.
I have a Hub at about.me/dontpokesmot that will link you to places like here, my instagram account, my art only twitter, my RedBubble page, and my failed Google+ (which might as well be inactivated but I'll keep it around until Google figures out what they want to do with the platform).
What is important is that you should be looking into my Ko-Fi account if any of the art that you've seen has interested you and basically want to give me a tip for drawing it. Anything is greatly appreciated and I'm very thankful for those who still stop my this blog.
My plans are that I want to archive a new story that I've been working on around, but hadn't really been able to get all the info necessary to post it yet. Being afraid to start a big project is the biggest hurdle. The next thing you can look forward to this blog is maybe more featured links to things on the RedBubble and TeePublic shops. Thanks for stopping by though.

Some Facts About Milly
SO a few Facts about Milly… the problem with her is that I’ve only really developed her future. I’ve kept her past a mystery, cause she is a bit of a "put yourself in her shoes" sort of character. Rather bland on purpose, but that’s NEVER a good thing to do. It’s certainly something I don’t like about those types of characters, so why would I MAKE one like that?…Honestly she is a small avatar for me, so I should try and make her more of her own person.
So some facts.
Milly likes crazy electronic music, including Dubstep. She uses it once to mess with all the ghosts in the Hotel cause it bothers ALL of them and she can walk around like it’s no big deal, because she listens to it all the time. It’s a bit of a means of fucking with Grunder, and unfortunately everyone else has to suffer cause he was being a dick.
Milly inherited the Hotel from a long distance cousin who died. The family threw it on her cause they knew the hotel was cursed and thought the only way to deal with the deed was to throw it at an unsuspecting American. Milly never really meets these people cause they were all related through marriage, so she has no means to contact them other then to say ‘thanks’ ironically. How her cousin came of the hotel is a longer story.
Milly is a shut in, and while I’ve honestly never figured out why she takes the deed, she doesn’t have knowledge of where her parents are at. Apparently they’re explorers, and go around the world just looking for cool new stuff to discover. Sometimes she gets a post card from them where they last set foot, but they always say she should leave the house more often and they love and miss her.
She does like to draw a lot, and facebooks very often with her little doodles about what she does during the day or her funny ideas. She’s made more friends on facebook cause of that, then she felt she could do in real life.
Milly’s favourite foods are poptarts (chocolate), apples, and ramen…she adapted to not needing much to eat during the day. If she can’t fit it in her pockets, she doesn’t buy it. She already likes tea, and was excited that England’s teas are really that good.
Milly likes Baloney. She’ll eat baloney and mayo sammiches, and make
faces out of the slices of Baloney. She also likes a lot of juvenile
activities as it’s taken her a while to grow up in her habits. She still
has a pair of Jellies from the 80’s that her mom used to wear, and
prefers to use them over Crocs. I do need to draw her in different
outfits…that could be another sketch page.
This page was done recently when I was visting my friend Abby and she kidnapped my drawing paper and littered it with all these wonderful drawings of Milly, Grunder, and a wonderfully spooky Russle. She made Milly’s hair long in the back never occurred to me to draw, cause I’m so used to drawing everyone’s hair short in the back.
Then we just had some fun doodling faces and fucking up Grunder’s mood with Egg shitting rabbits…True fact, Cadbury Eggs didn’t exist until about the 20’s, but the company was making Chocolate drinks during the 1800’s so Grunder would’ve known was Cadbury was…just have no fucking idea why they made cream filled eggs.
A factoid from Abby’s side: Nick Archade likes Grunder…but it’s more like a folklore legend in his mind, and they’re non canonically connected. It’s the same way Bart Simpson likes Radioactive Man, Grunder is a story/comic Nick is aware of in his own world, and likes Him. He could possibly have nightmare sex fantasies about Grunder pinning him down in bed, but I’ll leave that to Abby to write.
And Spongebab…that is all.

I've Been Busy With Life
Hello people here. You have NO idea how hard it's been for me to constantly update all the blogs I run and have a life outside the internet at the same time. I'm drawing a lot but nothing I really want to showcase here on Don't Poke Smot. I like to keep this blog just about finished and original artwork rather then simple doodles and things.
This blog also in need of a an update to a more comfortable Google Blogger style, cause I'm still using an old CSS style that looks great for me, but doesn't work very well for Google Blogger. I mean I have no reason to update the CSS style to one I dont like but I think google blogger will love me better if I commit to what they want me to do.
EITHER WAY. If you've come to this blog to look for my art work, thanks a lot. I love you. My devianart account has always been more active cause I post my fanart and my Google + is another great way to stay in contact with me on a social networking scale. Also I've set up a Society6 account to start selling a few things. Thanks a lot for stopping by and I'll do my best to keep posting and updating here.

Design Showcase: Moxie Sozo
Ok doesn't seem logical to make a post promoting other people's
artwork but when I've TWICE bought a product based on how the package
looks alone, then I gotta talk about it. At least to show other people
some cool artwork.
Moxie Sozo is a Design Company from Bolder Colorado. 1st product I bought of theirs is Late July, which was a rather tasty brand of chips.
So Today I picked up a box of Snackle Mouth Granola Nut Clusters.

The patterns, the gradients, the font details, and the deep rich colors: each box has a different design to show off their ingredients, like the men on the boxes are kings or ring masters of some sort of fruit and nut kingdom. Their circus/ cracker jack like designs have so much detail and yet they're very nightmareish. Most certainly the Bacon and Maple box, which has a man with a pig nose. They stand out like a sore thumb say at a Safeway or Walmart, but one of the local markets in my town had them and I was drawn to them like a magnet.
Moxie's Portfolio for Snackle Mouth.
While I've never tried the fallowing products I can only say that these are worth a try just based on the wonderful graphic work alone. How ever I'm not very impressed with some of the more, commercial work featured in their portfolio, there are obviously different teams that tackle certain products. However, there is someone with great skill at that company, and I could just stare at these packages for hours looking at how they did it all. Great work!

Finding
high quality images of the products is rather hard, but look at the
color combinations, the font, and the vector graphics which have the
right level of gradients because if you go too far with gradients, then
it looks cheesy (cheesy here meaning not good). There is a very
wholesome appeal to this packaging that does lure you into the product.
The sweet potato one is the one I've had and it's as good as it looks.

New Buisness Cards and Stickers
It's been a while hasn't it. Blogger has made some big changes without me, and it certainly needs some work fixing up it's image inserting methods. Had some trouble figuring it out, and had to make edits in the HTML section before it got to look the way that I wanted to.
Well Good news either way. make up some new business cards AND sticky labels. I used a company called MOO.com and the quality and presentation is so unique. It's a bit to expensive for convenience but it makes your business cards look like real art pieces rather then just a piece of paper with your name on it.I used Moo to get their sample cards and buy some stickers, which are still available if you want to get some Eddie Eel stickers.
Here below you can see the new pieces of art I made for the back of the cards with new lineart for some of the older designs. The only NEW character is the cactus guy, who I would like to try and draw a whole new set of fun little cactus men like him. Sadly the monster contest with the Cyclops girl didn't turn out well, but people love her so much I put the design to good use. She's the only girl on the cards.

Also I was able to make some sticky labels, that I will sell for 1$ also if you're interested. The difference between the labels and the cards is that I have Ozzie instead of Demion and I have my logo and email on them.
So to finish up, letting you know that I won't be syncing my blog with my Google+ profile yet, but there's no real good way of hiding my different profiles any more. My Google accounts are the more professional accounts, and I won't be doing the same things I do on my DeviantArt Account and my Tumblr account. It's just all original here, with some highlights of my fanart.
Also thank you to the people who have google image searched my stuff. Thank you for stopping by, I hope I have done something that interests you in hiring me. Don't be afraid to leave a comment with Questions.

An Update For June
Yeah
I havn't posted here in a while but I have been busy. I update my Deviantart Account a lot more, so go fallow me there.
I made a new Tumblr Blog, just to be able to post and say what ever I'd like to. This blog format works better for my original work. Please if you have a Tumblr, go fallow me there.
I would ask that you look at my original art as well. Here is a list of blogs I've written about my characters:
Annie-Mae:
New Annie-Mae: Freak of the Freak Kingdom
The development of Annie-Mae's World
The Mountain Dew Fairy Tale
How to Please Hippies
--- Part 2- and Part 3

Eddie Eel:
Stories for Eddie for July
Deep Sea Spooks - Halloween Ep Plot Summery
Music of Eddie Eel
The Stickers
Rokko:
The Horrible Life of Rokko
How Rokko Met Crikkit
Rokko Daddy
Headless Rokko
Haunted Hotel:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
While I typically don't like to post fanart here, I'll show you what I've been working on. Mostly Gorillaz.

Snag in the Road but Still Drawing
OOO, man folks. Yeah I've been hit with a Fanart spell. Picking up some love for the Gorillaz and you can see some of that art on DA. I justed wanted to give an update with some of my original artwork here and let you all know that the Haunted Hotel ISN'T dead, I just hit a snag in part of the storytelling. Letting you know that I do plan to finish it (maybe come Halloween?) and add some more side stories to it to explain how the Hotel came about.
Other then that, here is a nice collection of original art that I've put up since by last blog. Enjoy
