June Progress

Hello folks. Been a while since i blogged last. I've handed out a few of the business cards I've made so I'm sure some of you have come around to check out what's here.

Gonna say now that the way the image lay out works on this new google blogger is a bit annoying. I tried to make a new actual article blog and it wouldn't stack images next to each other very well. I'll figure it out I guess in time, but it was easy to do in the old blogger.

Anyway, I've been going to school, finishing up my AA degree, which is basic college, but I've been getting enough work without a BA degree cause I've just had the work experience...So trust me with my skills...Do I need a little paper from the State of CA to say I'm smart?
Gonna lay down some drawings that I've done since last, mostly sketchy but just keeping you informed of what's going on.

Last of the Hippie BS

So here are the last three for the school project I have to do. The best part is that I can name these files "Hippie BS" because she won't see the names of the files. The project is to set a goal for your 6 elements of Health. The teacher, being the pro-active bimbo she is, asked me what I liked to do, thus making this project more personal to me. I said drawing and that gives her the assumption that I'm gonna ad pictures to my project. If I DIDN'T add pictures to the project, I don't think I'd get an A.

The teacher is a huge soap-boxer and often played a guilt trip when it came to the Psychical health section. While she had you learn how to take your resting heart and stuff important to a good exercise routine, she was so spontaneous and random that you really didn't know what to expect by the end of the class and I'm sure some people ate up her words like a low fat yogurt. I mean this was a woman who calls Pizza evil, and eating it is KILLING your body. There was no forgiving of any kind when it came to occasionally snacking on junk or eating one hamburger at all...you can't quit food cold turkey lady. After a month of staying food healthy, I'm ready for the class to be over and I've reverted back to old ways.

Now I just don't give a shit about what SHE thinks and I'm gonna do what I feel is best to my health they way I need to. I don't want to be a junk food slob, or eat fast food five days a week, I've gone beyond the point of finding that type of diet appetizing anymore. But I don't need her HIPPIE BS. By the end of the semester now that things are rapping up she's getting into a better state of mind.

One thing I would've LOVED to get out of this class, other then the clichéd "eat healthy and exercise" babble health people love to spew, are more tips about being Socially and Spiritually healthy. I get environmental and mental health, two things that aren't hard to do, but what I'm really lacking in is social health. I'm not good at meeting new people, or being friendly to just anyone. I'm always conflicted with a fear of non-acceptance when it comes to meeting people in person, and being able to communicate basic things like my name to fellow classmates is hard for me.

So in the end I don't feel like I learned anything that I couldn't find on-line or I didn't already know. Got to take the class to graduate though...only reason I stuck to it. guess in the end I can say I came out stronger.

Health and Hippie BS 2

Two more pics that I'm working on for the school project. I really feel like I'm just BSing my opinions now...What a load of crock these pics are turning out to be. What ever, think she won't be able to tell that this isn't who I am...maybe they are and I'm LYING to myself about it...oh well. I'll be happier once the class is done...

I'd like to tell you more about what the class is about, but frankly I've ranted so many times about it to friends, you don't need to hear it either.

How to Please Hippies

How to please a hippie...

1. Make it green. Somehow it needs to have the color green in it. Its not about "going green" but green has always been someone hippies love...maybe it's the color of pot but not all hippies are pot smokers but somehow they still love the color green.

2. Make your reds hearts because if they're not hearts they're fire, and fire is bad because it kills green things.

3. Pretend to care about what they have to say. If you don't agree with what they say, you can still warp the things you like into something they would agree with. I like pie, so instead of buying a SeraLee frozen pie, I would tell them I would LOVE to grow my own food to make that pie. This is true for me though but still, point remains, if you say you're not going to support big business they might just leave you alone.

Those are three things to help you deal with a naggin hippie. Part of my reason for saying this is that my school project is for a health and wellness class...and I happen to get miss proactive. Sure she's won me with guilt trips and the whole you're killing yourself with each peice of chocolate you eat...but to assign a project telling us NOT to cater to her and at the same time, showing us examples of previous projects she didn't think was A material (all of them fitting the cirteria) . It's like I NEED to BS the whole thing to get an A, which means I'm not being true to myself.

If it was up to me my project would this long:
I understand everything this class has taught me about health and wellness. The fact is, I can't control EVERYTHING that life throws at me. Death is a part of life, and while I'm not going to intentionally cause my own death faster, I'm not going to be rolling in my grave regretting all the fast food I ever ate. I will say "God I LOVE Chicken McNuggets!" The End.
